Hi All!! Sorry I have not written in a while, I have been soooo busy, especially with student teaching. I will be in California in 28 days!!
Lets see where to begin... I went to a gold class movie last week. This is a theater that has recliners and they serve you whatever you want, including alcohol :) It was really cool, plus the movie was good. We saw Taken, although it wasn't a great choice for me to see while I am abroad, haha.
A couple of weekends ago I was really busy too. My friend Kait and I went all around doing fun stuff. We went to the markets, where you can get cheap souviners, which I love to buy, although I have tried to hold back considering I don't have any room for them in my suitcases. We also went to Featherdale Zoo. This zoo allows you to pet the koalas, kangaroos, and wallabys. You can also feed the kangaroos and wallabys, although they usually aren't interested. This has been one of my favorite things to do so far!! After that we still had time so we went to the Blue Mountains. We took a rail down and a cable car back up. I really wanted to see a cool waterfall, but it was too cold to walk a long way. I did get to see the Three Sisters though. It is beautiful there!
I also went with Jenny (Kait's mom) to Darling Harbor. We went shopping and we found The Real World House. I was really excited about this, although it doesn't seem like a lot of poeple know what or where it is over here. :)
Last weekend Fiona and I went into the city on Saturday. We went up into the Sydney Tower where we got some awesome views!! Then we got to do the OzTrek, which is a virtual tour through Australia. We also went to the Royal Botanical Gardens, which I am sure are much better in the spring time. That night we went to a makeup party with my supervisor. It was a blast! We drank wine and they were quite funny! I had to buy some self tanner, becasue I am soooo white! I know, you are probably all expecting me to come back with a tan, but nope- its winter here. :( Not what I was expecting either. On Sunday we went and watched baseball with Sunday (that is her name) and Jenny. Then Fiona and I went to Sunday's to watch the closing Olympics. It has been interesting watching the coverage in another country! We also got to play with her adorable little girl Kiersten. She is 18 months.
Now as for student teaching...
It has continued to go well and I have am still learning so much with Nadeane. I started full time teaching today, although we went on an excursion (field trip) to the planetarium. It was fun, but exhausting. The kids loved it. We also had the fire birgade come in a couple of weeks ago as we were learning about fire safety. Last Thursday we had open house, which was good for me to experience as well. Being in a private school I am learning some interesting things. I have learned a lot about things that I do like as an educator along with some things that I do not like. As I said I start full time teaching this week, which I am looking forward too. I was planning last Friday night until 10:30pm... I know what a loser. HAHA but it is kind of hard not having my own stuff and the internet is very slow at the school so I waste a lot of time there!! I am not nervous, just ready to get on with it.
I am really starting to miss everyone and want to thank all who have sent me cards, they really help! If anyone is interested my addy is below. Miss you all!
