I have arrived

Hello All! In case you were wondering if I made it or not... I did. I do not have internet in my flat yet so I can only use it at the school, therefore I have been limited so this is why it has taken me so long to blog. Sorry Terri :)

I am teaching and living on the grounds of the American International School. Everyone who works at the school it super nice. I really like my cooperating teacher and the aid in our room. Our classroom is very cute. I will post picture once I get my internet. I can't wait to start with the kids tomorrow. We have quite the variety, so I will get a great experience! My supervisor is also very sweet. She took me and my roommate in for the first week as we tried to get settled in. She has a little girl who is so cute. She made me feel at home! Both my teacher and supervisor are American, so that helps. I have also met a couple of people my age who have been great and took us out this weekend. We went to the bars, which are really cool. We also watched a rugby game at the pub.

Today, my roommate and I braved the trains and buses and went into Sydeny on our own! It was beautiful! We went around Circular Quay (pronounced key). It is a very touristy area where the opera house and harbor bridge are. We got to watch the Aborigines play their music and watched a street performer. We also went in some of the souviner shops. We are still working on finding our way around, but today helped. This trip is definately going to make me more independent! We have many plans to come and I will be letting you know about them!
