Hello all! I will be leaving in only 3 weeks and I can not wait to see all of you! I am done with my first week of student teaching on my own and it went great! I have learned that I really can go with the flow as much as I don't like to. Ha Ha, but that is a very important teacher skill so I am glad I can. Now I just need to work on the stress factor. :) Last week we went on an excursion (field trip) to the planetarium to fit in with our solar system unit that I have been teaching. It was fun and the kids loved it, but I figured out that field trips can make you more tired than a regular day. Everything else has been going pretty smoothly with ST and I have been learning a lot still and I am stealing lots of ideas. I can't wait to have my own classroom!
Last weekend I went to NewCastle to visit my friends from home, Curtis and Ashley. They are studying abroad. I went up Saturday morning because we had a going away party for a teacher on Friday night. The train ride wasn't much fun, but I did get some reading in. Once I got there it was though. We went to a rugby aka footy game, which I have been wanting to do. It was NewCastle vs. Melburne, and unbeknownst to me I wore the wrong color. Whoops! haha oh well. NewCastle won and it was a good game. I was glad I got to see one. Then we went back to their campus and played drinking games for the night. My good friend Curtis had some Bud waiting for me :) It is not very common over here so I was excited. And there is no Bud Light (my fav) so I have had to suffer for the last 6 weeks w/o one. :) Oh well I am sure Abe will have one waiting for me in Cali when I get there. Mom, Dad and Ty are meeting me there. I will only be there for 2 days but at least I will get to see Abe. Then it is Sweet Home Iowa in 20 days!! See you all soon!
